| Summary: | The objective of this study is to analyse the situation in rural zones within Barcelona province (from a socio-economic perspective), to analyse the systems of access to rural zones used by Barcelona County Council (from a political and territorial and sectorial policies of DIBA) and finally, to create in the immediate future general proposals which will allow for an analysis of the benefit of the creation of ARBA Agència Rural de Barcelona (Barcelona Rural Agency) which is not included in this current study.

| Summary: | This study analysed the job market in the region of Les Garrigues from a gender perspective to detect what positive action measures are necessary which favour equal opportunities for men and women in businesses. Analysis of the current situation identifies where both direct and indirect inequality and discrimination takes place.

- - Making an inventory of the main sources of finance in order to bring about actions designed to promote local economy.
- - Identifying competencies and skills needed by the Agent for Employment and Local Development to develop the functions and tasks specific to this work in the aforementioned areas.
