CEDRICAT’s activities are based on:

- Promoting and developing research and the transfer of results from work in the field of sustainable rural development.

- Socially and economically dynamising rural and, in particular, less privileged areas of Catalonia; the planning and carrying out of development projects within Catalonia's borders, without however excluding other areas with common interests or which are exemplars;

- Co-operation with institutions, corporations, bodies and individuals in the composition, bringing about and management of projects;

- Assessment of the means of obtaining lines of assistance and sources of funding to bring about projects, plans and rural development programmes.

- Participation in the financing of pilot projects whose objective is the sustainable development of the area.


The beneficiaries of CEDRICAT are basically entities, bodies and other institutions with planning and/or management capacity for economic resources as well as having specialists in the application of actions in rural areas.

Public/private Social Agencies. Grouped or as individuals, these can be under project management in numerous convocations linked to rural development. In addition, their members may include the beneficiaries of many of the actions to be taken (Associations of agriculture, women in rural communities, small and medium-sized rural businesses among others).

Administration at autonomous state level. In those cases in which the presence of CEDRIC contributes in fomenting the objectives of generating and managing funds dedicated to rural areas with maximum efficiency.

Administration at provincial level,, can help to obtain state or autonomic resources which could be of interest in the demarcation in question, assuring the necessary co-ordination between high-level administration, local administration, or other beneficiaries.

Administration at local level (Town halls, municipalities and autonomous bodies). , External assistance in large scale projects connected to technical, social and economic management systems, far from resources to which access would normally be available because of their nature and which would fail or not come about without specialised support (for example European rural development programmes, Proder, etc). And specialised assistance in general.

Other beneficiaries (businesses, associations or others) . In peripheral rural areas it may be necessary or wise to implement support in obtaining resources for programmes linked to infrastructures and/or human resources.
